All right, chillen, let this old geezer sit ya upon his knee, n' tell ya the tale of Cosmic Ray....
Cosmic Ray is my beloved li'l 17-year feature film project! Completed in 2003, the sprawling, Sci-Fi movie was rejected by 51 film festivals, including Sundance, Slamdance, Berlin, Rotterdam, Toronto, Chicago, New York (twice), Brooklyn, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Los Angeles, San Francisco (twice), Denver, Milwaukee, Austin, Telluride, Vancouver, Portland, and even my hometown film festival, beautiful Seattle.
In 2004, the film was abandoned.
In 2006, the movie was re-edited into 72 minute-long Episodes.
The 72 little Cosmic Ray Episodes were then posted on YouTube.
This was our last-ditch effort. Seriously, man, we had NO HOPE WHATSOEVER that anybody would watch the movie.
The 72 Episodes of Cosmic Ray garnered more than 250,000 viewings on YouTube, and became one of the most-watched (and absolutely the WEIRDEST most-watched) Web series on the site.
